Country kitchen

The furniture-style cabinetry combines with rich, dark wall colors to produce an elegant country look in this large kitchen.
The cooking fireplace was central in country kitchens (The French Country Kitchen Design) of the 1800s, and so is the cooking area of this kitchen. The range wall features an oversized mantel-style hood flanked by identical complex wall cabinetry. Lowered symmetrical corner cabinetry separates the main work areas.
A breakfast bar on the island creates a private work area and provides a beautiful outdoor view. The island also houses a microwave close to the refrigerator. Two ovens are incorporated into a hutch-style piece of furniture.

This kitchen earned a third-place award in the small kitchen category of the National Kitchen and Bath Association’s 2003 Design Competition
